Futurist

One of my favorite short story collections is The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. Its a classic combination of Bradbury wit, fantasy, and poeticisms and wonderful all the way through. You should read it for all sorts of reasons, but make sure to at least check out The Rocket Man if for no other reason, for this gem of 1950s futurism

” … and Dad read the stereo-newspapers inserted into the special hat you put on your head and which turned the microscopic page in front of the magnifying lens if you blinked three times in secession.”

So close yet so far away! I find something about this prediction delightful and I’m tempted to try and make one of these reading devices just for the fun of it.
